CFME volunteers with Camp Dogwood Grief Camp

The Center for Mindful Exploration participated in Camp Dogwood June, 2016. Therapeutic drum instructor and leader of The Chattahoochee Rhythm Keepers, Tom Harris, supported by CFME volunteers, Emily Jones, Nick Mayfield and Susan Marshall led four drumming groups with the campers and volunteers. Our volunteers Nick Mayfield, Jory Marshall and Nik Marshall provided a lively and fun drumming demonstration on Friday night.

Camp Dogwood is a free, three-day overnight grief camp for children in kindergarten through 8th grade from Troup, Coweta, Heard, Meriwether and Harris counties who have experienced the loss of a loved one. Created in 1997 as an outreach of West Georgia Hospice, it now serves 60 children each summer with the help of about 125 volunteers.
