Therapeutic Drumming Empowerment Groups

The Center for Mindful Exploration is excited to announce our new 

Therapeutic Drumming Empowerment Group

for boys in 4th – 6th grades

Participants will be able to:

1. Increase focus by attending to musical task

2. Increase emotional regulation by expressing feelings appropriately, either musically or verbally

3. Develop skills to calm their minds and bodies, which will result in reduction of aggressive behavior.

4. Increase ability to manage impulses

5. Make positive statements about themselves, each other and their drumming community

6. Behave in ways that suggest feelings of belonging to the group;

Improve self confidence and show leadership, either by example or verbally

Groups will be led by licensed therapist, LaShannon Epps, APC and therapeutic drum instructor, Emily Jones, MEd.

When

This 6-week class will meet Tuesdays, 5 – 6:30pm

January 15, 22, 29, February 5, 12, and 19, 2019

Cost

$120 for the 6 weeks. Cost includes drum instruction, therapy and use of an African drum during the class. No refunds for missed classes.
